Troubleshooting

Updated October 15, 2026

A scan is empty, or a stock is missing

  1. Click Explain and find the step where the count falls away.
  2. Check whether a filter is on. The button above the results names it; Filters off shows everything.
  3. Many scans require average volume above 1M and price above $5. Stocks below either cutoff won’t appear.
  4. Check the chart history. A recent listing may not have enough 4-hour bars for a 200-bar average, so a filter using it leaves the stock out.

I’m not getting alerts

  • Check the scan’s bell is on: Alerts → Edit Alerts.
  • Open Alert Settings and use Send test on the channel.
  • For desktop notifications, check your browser allows them for zenscans.com, and that Windows Focus or Do Not Disturb is off.
  • On the free plan alerts run 15 minutes behind.

The data looks old

  • The time beside Updated in the gray bar is the last refresh. The circular arrow next to it refreshes now.
  • The free plan is 15 minutes behind by design. Turbo is live.
  • A notice across the top of the page means I know about a delay.
  • If ZenBot has had no mouse, key or touch for 8 hours, it pauses and says so at the bottom of the screen. Move the mouse and it picks up where it left off.

My scans or flags aren’t on my other device

  • Check you are signed in on both, with the same account.
  • Anything created while signed out stays on that device.
  • Whether the charts are shown or hidden is set on each device on purpose.

A chart shows a big jump that didn’t happen

Usually a stock split. Fast Charts adjust for splits and mark them with an S, so if you see the jump on a Fast Chart, tell me with Report a Problem. ZenBot charts are not adjusted for dividends.

The free chart limit

The free plan opens charts for up to 150 different tickers a day. If you reach it, the chart says so, and charts you already opened that day still work. The count starts again at midnight Eastern. Turbo has no limit.

Something is broken

Use Support → Report a Problem. It sends me your description, a picture of the screen and details that help me track it down.
