Connect your AI
Add ZenBot to Claude or ChatGPT and ask about your scans, a ticker or a chart in plain words: “what’s on my Gap Up scan, and which ones have news?”, “read the NVDA daily chart”, “build me a scan for stocks near the 50 SMA with rising volume, and save it”. Your AI calls ZenBot for the data and answers from it, the same scans and numbers you see in the app. ZenBot describes, it never advises. Connect AI is part of ZenBot Turbo.
You add ZenBot as a connector and sign in with your ZenBot account. No keys, no settings files. The address to paste is:
https://www.zenbotscanner.com/mcp
Add to Claude
Works in Claude on the web, the desktop app and the phone app. Add it once and it is there on all of them.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector.
- Name it ZenBot and paste
https://www.zenbotscanner.com/mcpas the URL. - Open Advanced settings and paste this as the OAuth Client ID:
qaDxACfEJgMY8zhPLW59XgZxb93uRWhE. Leave the client secret empty. Click Add. - Click Connect next to ZenBot. The ZenBot login opens: sign in the way you usually do and click Accept to let Claude use your ZenBot account.
- Start a chat. ZenBot is in the tools menu (the sliders icon under the message box); make sure it is switched on, then ask “What’s on the Gap Up scan right now?”
Claude asks before ZenBot changes anything in your account, such as saving a scan or turning on alerts.
Add to ChatGPT
Custom connectors in ChatGPT need a Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise plan, and ChatGPT keeps them behind a developer-mode switch for now. Menu names move around between ChatGPT updates; look for Connectors or Apps.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors.
- Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode.
- Click Create (or Add connector). Name it ZenBot, paste
https://www.zenbotscanner.com/mcpas the MCP server URL and choose OAuth for authentication. Under the OAuth settings, pasteqaDxACfEJgMY8zhPLW59XgZxb93uRWhEas the Client ID and leave the secret empty. Tick that you trust the app, and click Create. - The ZenBot login opens: sign in and click Accept.
- In a new chat, click +, choose ZenBot (under Developer mode or More), and ask away.
Cursor and VS Code
On the Connect AI page, under For developers, click Make a key, then Add to Cursor or Add to VS Code. The app opens with ZenBot Stock Scanner and your key filled in; confirm and it is connected.
What your AI can call
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
| list_scans | Every built-in scan with its key, title, what it finds and how many stocks are on it now, plus your own custom scans. |
| get_scan_results | The stocks on a scan, up to 25, with price, change, relative volume, relative strength vs SPY, distance from VWAP, sector and more. Your custom scans too, by name. |
| get_ticker | One stock as the scanner sees it: price, move, volume, strength, levels, the scans it is on, earnings, options liquidity, headlines. Options and technicals on request. |
| why_on_scan | Every rule of a scan checked against a stock, with the values. |
| search_filters | The filter catalog scans are built from: ids, units, timeframes, industries. |
| run_scan | Runs a scan spec on the live scanner: the funnel (how many stocks pass each condition), the total and up to 25 matches. Nothing is saved. |
| get_market | Indexes, breadth, sectors ranked, busiest scans, movers, ZenBot’s commentary and the top headlines. |
| get_calendar | The week’s economic events and earnings. |
| get_chart | A Fast Chart image (1m to daily) with the stock’s numbers, for the AI to read. |
| save_scan | Saves a spec into your account as a custom scan, named, with its share link. Your AI asks before it writes. |
| create_alert | Turns a scan’s alerts on or off in your account, built-in or custom. Delivery still needs your alerts switch and a channel in Alert Settings. |
ZenBot also brings Ask Zen’s shortcuts into your AI. In Claude they are under the + menu once ZenBot is connected; each runs the task the way Ask Zen does, on your own AI:
- Explain a chart (a ticker, and a timeframe if you like)
- How is a stock doing?
- What’s interesting right now?
- Plan tomorrow’s session
- Build a scan from a description
- Why is a stock on (or off) a scan?
- Answer like Zen: Zen’s rules for any ZenBot question
This user guide comes along too, as resources, so “how does the Age column work” is answered from these pages.
For developers: keys
Tools that don’t sign in with OAuth (Claude Code, scripts, some editors) use a connector key instead. On the Connect AI page, under For developers, click Make a key. The key is shown once with ready-made setup for each tool; copy it then. You can keep up to three keys and revoke any of them there.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http zenbot https://www.zenbotscanner.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>" - Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf: an
mcpServersentry with"url": "https://www.zenbotscanner.com/mcp"and the headerAuthorization: Bearer <your key>, or the Add to Cursor / Add to VS Code buttons shown with the key. - Claude Desktop with a key: the
mcp-remotebridge block shown with the key (needs Node.js). Adding a connector, above, is easier.
Keep the key private
Anyone with the key can read your scans. If it leaks, revoke it on the Connect AI page and make a new one.Limits and what it won’t do
Each connection allows 60 calls a minute and 2,000 a day, with smaller daily caps on the single-stock and chart tools. Results stop at 25 rows and no tool returns raw price bars or the whole market: the connection is for your scans and the scanner’s read, not a data feed. Every call checks that the account still has Turbo; a lapsed subscription pauses the connection and a renewal turns it back on. Your AI’s own usage is covered by your Claude or ChatGPT plan, not billed by ZenBot.
